Praying God’s Word Over The Bride Of Christ

Made Ready

“Let us rejoice and be glad and give Him glory! For the wedding of the Lamb has come, and His bride has made herself ready.” Revelation19:7

Imagine Jesus holding a picture of His bride, the church; the bride He will come to be with when He returns; the bride that is described in Scripture.  Will that picture look like what He finds when he returns?  Or will it be like a mail-order bride or on-line dating scam where the picture looks nothing like the reality?  Believers are made ready by the blood of Jesus Christ alone, but He left instructions for His bride while we wait for His return.  If we want to be prepared for that glorious day and look like the bride Jesus desires, we don’t need to guess how to do that, Scripture tells us.

God promises to answer prayers asked according to His will (1 John 5:14-15), and we know that Scripture is His will. So as we commit to humbly pray His Truth in love, we can trust our faithful God to answer those prayers. We don’t have to be theologians or even fully understand Scripture.  We just need to pray God’s Word with a heart for His will to be done. Then we can look expectantly for His powerful answers, and let Him shape us into His bride and sanctify us (make us pure and set apart for Him) by His Word (John 17:17).

Pray the Bible verses and prayers in each post over yourselves, your churches and the church of Jesus Christ universal. Invite your Christian friends to do the same so we can have people praying for as many churches as possible.  Don’t stop with the prayers written here, but allow the Holy Spirit to continue the prayer through you during the week. God said His house would be a house of prayer (Matthew 21:13) and to pray and seek Him so that He might forgive and heal (2 Chronicles 7:14).  Let’s begin a groundswell of powerful, Holy Spirit-led prayer that encourages, heals and strengthens us and the church and centers us In His Will.

Prayer: Lord, there is no question that you will return to celebtate with your bride, and we thank you for that promise.  So whether you return this week, next year or 1000 years from now, we want to look like the people and church you have commanded in your Word.  Help us to understand and obey your Word and to be faithful in prayer. Allow your Holy Spirit to work and speak powerfully in and through the prayers of your people for your church. Let them be prayers that would produce a bride that is pleasing in your sight; a church that is attractive to a dying world because we are not just praying your Word but also obeying it.  God Almighty, raise up an army of prayer warriors to fight for Jesus’ bride because there is another suitor pursuing her with false promises and teaching.  Give us your protection, discernment and wisdom as we pray for your will to be done on earth as it is in heaven. In the great name of your Son, The Head of Your Church, The One who is victorious, Jesus Christ. Amen!

“This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. And if we know that He hears us–whatever we ask–we know that we have what we asked of Him.” 1 John 5:14-15
